KiwiStamps - We buy and sell NZ stamps
Members of the NZSDA
Fred and Lynda Saunders of Hanmer Springs previously of Christchurch operate Kiwi Stamps. They take the name Kiwi from New Zealand’s national bird emblem.
The Kiwi is remarkable not only because it cannot fly, but because, unlike other birds, its nostrils are at the tip of its bill. A nocturnal bird, it nests in burrow or hole in bank, or under a fallen tree.
New Zealanders are called Kiwis after their unique national emblem.
Fred has been collecting stamps sine he was at primary school, like most youngsters he collected NZ stamps. While at secondary school stamps were put to one side for other interests that occupied his spare time. At about nineteen he resumed collecting again. Fred is a member of the Christchurch Philatelic Society and the NZ Stamp Collectors Club where he was the Vice President for Nine Years and Auction Organizer. They are also fall members of the New Zealand Stamp Dealers Association. In 1996 he started selling at local Markets, then in March 1998 with Lynda’s help they put out there first Postal Bid Sale Catalogue, it was then they decided to call themselves ‘Kiwi Stamps’. A catalogue is put out approximately 2 to 3 times a year.
Fred lists the material for the sale and Lynda looks after the printing and processing of all the bids as they arrive either by fax, post or email. Lynda also looks after all the loading in and setting up of their web page. They still support the local stamp fairs as they both feel it is still important to talk on a one to one basis with their existing clients and to meet new ones. As now they live in Hanmer Springs they still come back once a month to support Christchurch Stamp Fairs also they attend Stamp shows out of town.
Fred and Lynda are conscientious in dealing with their clients in a honest, sincere and courteous manner.
You too, can rely on them!
